OmegaStar Preamplifier Options

Optional performance enhancements for OmegaStar preamps.

Note: The following options are for installation in new AVA preamp chassis only. They do not include chassis. For complete SF Phono Preamp, SF Inverter, or SF Buffer units with chassis see those separate products.

The OmegaStar SL and EC preamplifiers can be supplied with the following built-in options:

The AVA Remote option adds remote controlled volume and mute functions to your AVA preamp.

Available as a factory installed option for OmegaStar EC and OmegaStar SL preamps. It can be added to an OmegaStar SL kit as a factory installed option after the kit is finished.

The OmegaStar RIAA Phono Preamplifier board is complete with high current hybrid buffered output circuits to handle long cables, complex tape loops, and other difficult loads. It is quiet, dynamic, musically liquid and transparent. For any normal output phono cartridge, head amp, or moving coil step-up transformer. Not for use with low output moving coil cartridges without an external step-up transformer or amplifier. It is installed internally connecting to the Special Inputs on the preamp replacing one set of line level inputs.

Available as an option for factory-built OmegaStar EC and OmegaStar SL preamps and the OmegaStar SL preamp kit.

The OmegaStar Stereo Phase Inverter Bridge board provides for the direct mono bridging of any pair of common ground amplifiers for more than tripled single channel power. (Hookup diagram.) The phase inverter can also be used for balanced line outputs or to drive a second stereo amplifier completely isolated from your main amplifier. It works great for remote system or surround sound use.

The phase inverter can make a single stereo amplifier sound better! Run one amplifier channel from an inverted output and the other from a non-inverted output. This puts the two amplifier channels out of phase so that the common drain on the power supply is reduced and residual cross-talk between the channels is attenuated. Reverse one loudspeaker connection to get the channels back in phase and enjoy more power, better separation and improved imaging. (Hookup diagram.)

The bridge circuits provide inverted outputs at the Line 2 outputs of your OmegaStar EC or SL preamp. Line 1 outputs are normal non-inverted outputs.

240 V wiring

OmegaStar preamplifiers can be supplied at an extra cost with a 240 V/50 Hz power transformer for foreign single phase 220/240 V operation.
