Fet Valve Preamplifier Options
The Fet Valve RIAA Stereo Phono Board
Note: The following
options are for installation
in new AVA preamp chassis only.
They do not include chassis.
For complete SF
Phono Preamp, SF
Inverter, or SF
Buffer units with chassis
see those separate products.
The Fet Valve RIAA Phono Preamplifier complete with
high current MOSFET output circuits to drive the EQ feedback
network perfectly, and to handle long cables, complex tape loops,
and other difficult loads. Our circuits are quiet, dynamic, musically
liquid and transparent and work great with any normal output phono
cartridge, head amp, or moving coil step-up transformer. Installed
in the Special location (Line 1 with the RB chassis) replacing
one set of line level inputs. Not available with bridge option.
Available in new Fet Valve
EC and Fet Valve
SL preamps.
The Fet Valve Stereo Phase
Inverter Bridge board provides
for the direct
mono bridging of any pair of
common ground amplifiers
for more than tripled single
channel power. For example,
two AVA Fet Valve 550hc
amplifiers bridged give you
over 1650 real watts! The phase
inverter can also be used for
balanced line outputs or to
drive a second stereo amplifier
completely isolated from your
main amplifier. It works great
for remote system or surround
sound use.
The
phase inverter can make a single
stereo amplifier sound better!
Run one amplifier channel from
an inverted output and the other
from a non-inverted output.
This puts the two amplifier
channels out of phase so that
the common drain on the power
supply is reduced and residual
cross-talk between the channels
is attenuated. Reverse one loudspeaker
connection to get the channels
back in phase and enjoy more
power, better separation and
improved imaging.
The bridge circuits provide inverted outputs at the Line 2
outputs of your Fet Valve EC or SL preamp. Line 1 outputs are
normal non-inverted outputs. Not available with Fet Valve RIAA
Phono option or in Fet Valve RB preamp.
Available in new Fet Valve
EC and Fet Valve
SL preamps.
Buffered Tape Outputs provide a dedicated fast high
current hybrid buffered circuit set designed to enhance tape loop
performance.
Many tape decks and signal processors are terrible loads, causing
degraded audio performance, especially when the tape decks or
processors are connected but turned off! Although our internal
phono circuits can handle these loads, your CD player, tuner,
or other source (which in effect becomes directly connected to
the tape outputs) may not be so carefully designed. Our hybrid
buffered line driver isolates your sources from tape output loads
and drives very difficult loads with ease. You will make better
sounding tapes and significantly improve the overall musical performance
of your system when the tape loops are used. The board connects
internally to the preamplifier's tape output jacks.
Available in new Fet Valve
EC and Fet Valve
SL preamps.
