The AVA Remote adds remote controlled volume and mute functions to your AVA preamp. At the heart of the design is a motor-driven, precision low-noise potentiometer, custom made to our specification. While this approach is significantly more expensive than the switched resistor ICs found in most remote control systems (including those found in mega-thousand dollar units), it is needed to prevent the inevitable signal degradation across the multiple FET switches found in those circuits. A relay with gold-plated contacts is used for the muting function. The relay is not in series with the audio circuit so contact points cannot cause signal degradation. A small, ergonomic IR transmitter completes the package.

The AVA Remote gives you the convenience of remote control without any negative impact on the signal. It is truly an audiophile solution. It is available as an option in all new AVA preamps and as a retrofit in existing AVA preamps in the EC or newer (11" deep) SL chassis.
