Shipping InformationShip your equipment to AVA via insured United Parcel Service (UPS). Do not use Parcel Post for electronic equipment. Please wrap the unit in a plastic bag so packing dust and bits cannot get inside it. To best protect your equipment, ship only one unit per carton and pack so the unit will survive a drop down a flight of stairs. Packing peanuts are fine for preamps and light equipment, but heavy power amps need more protection. Building supply stores sell styrofoam insulation in 8’ sheets. Use them to create a cocoon for your big power amp. Crumpled newspaper just isn’t strong enough to protect your electronics. If you use a “pack and ship” store, make sure your name and address are affixed to the unit itself. On rebuilds, most problems with your equipment will be taken care of at no extra charge since most original circuits and their defects will simply be discarded - but make sure you write a detailed note describing the problems so we are sure to find them. Severe mechanical problems can be resolved but may result in an extra cost billing to you. We must have working transformers, working switch assemblies, and completely assembled units with all hardware. International customers, we ship worldwide using air freight consolidated forwarding services or UPS. On smaller packages, we may use air parcel post, depending upon the weight, size, and value limits for your country. Please call or e-mail avahifi@comcast.netfor shipping rates. Many of our units are available wired for 240 volt operation. U.S. Customs will pass, duty free, units coming to us for rebuild or repair if they are valued under $500 U.S. and are marked “for repair and return.” Sorry, but due to credit card fraud we cannot accept credit card orders from international customers we have not done business with in the past. Please make payment with an international money order in U.S. dollars. Shipping and handling charges for surface UPS in the continental US are shown in the chart. Be sure to add the appropriate shipping costs to your payment. Surface UPS is the most economical shipping, and we urge you to choose this as air shipping will not provide you instant service with our custom-built products. Your order is not a mass-produced item already sitting in the warehouse. It will be carefully fabricated to your order, and you need to allow time for this to be done.
